Willian has revealed he received an offer from Barcelona last year but Chelsea turned it down.
The Brazil international can discuss pre-contract terms with other clubs outside of England in January as his current deal with the Blues expires this summer.
But the forward has revealed he could have left Stamford Bridge sooner.
‘The only real official offer I had came from Barcelona, last year, after the World Cup,’ Willian told DAZN.
‘Barcelona indeed presented an offer to Chelsea but it was rejected.
‘That was the only actual time I had to discuss something like this with my family, although we really love it here [London]. So there were several factors that helped us in staying.’
Willian recently played his 300th game for the Blues, but faces an uncertain future.
Chelsea are yet to offer the Brazilian a new deal and with manager Frank Lampard putting his faith in youth, there is no guarantee he will be offered fresh terms.
